Our Style
What makes City Home style so unique? We approach design with enthusiasm, taking on the role of curators who search far and wide for just the right pieces. It’s fun to mix and match styles, eras and patterns! Though we always keep an eye on what’s trending in the design world, we put a unique spin on what inspires us. Our goal is to create something new and beautifully unexpected.
We source from a wide variety of designers and vendors to avoid a cookie-cutter look and reflect the individuality of our customers and of the Pacific Northwest. Portland is and always will be in our DNA, and our style reflects the quirky-casual feel of this special city. We uplift uniqueness wherever we can, with a particular love of one-of-a-kind finds like vintage neon lights and live-edge wood furniture.
Commitment to Sustainability
Our principles are a guiding force in everything we do. We are locally owned and operated, and we love to do our part for our communities both locally and globally. As a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC), City Home focuses on sourcing products that are reclaimed, recycled or made and distributed in ways that protect our planet. Our aim is to separate ourselves from harmful environmental practices as much as possible and work with vendors who are as committed to our planet as we are.
Our Story
After getting her start selling container loads of European antiques, owner Kim Pelett created City Home in 2012. From these early beginnings as a boutique location within a cooperative, we quickly expanded into our first brick and mortar location on Taylor St in Portland, OR.
Since then, we have been fortunate to expand even further throughout Oregon and SW Washington, opening stores in Lake Oswego and Vancouver and expanding into a larger showroom in Portland (right across the street from our original location). In 2021, we added an outlet location next to our flagship Portland store, giving you even more ways to shop City Home! Our team has grown over the years as well, and now includes a keen-eyed team of designers who style our showrooms and our clients’ homes.
